Former governor of Imo State, Chief Achike Udenwa, has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will flush out Governor Rochas Okorocha and the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the state, saying the PDP will win all elective positions in the state during the 2015 general elections.
Udenwa made the comment during a ‘welcome back reception’ organized for Chief Cyril Amako and over 3,000 members of the APC who returned to the PDP in Irete, Owerri West Local Government Area of the state at the weekend.
The former governor stated that Imo was a PDP state and would remain so in spite of the political crisis that brought Governor Okorocha to power in 2011, adding that the party would flush Okorocha and APC out of the state in the general elections.
“I am glad that Amako and his supporters have seen the light and have decided to return to the PDP which is the only true national party in the country. Imo State is a PDP state and will remain so. We have put behind what happened in 2011 because the party will flush out Governor Okorocha and his APC from the state because we are going to reclaim the state in the forthcoming general elections,” Udenwa stated.
Senator Hope Uzodimma, representing Imo West (Orlu) in the Senate, also said all party stalwarts who left the party had returned, saying it was an indication that the party had been growing.
Chief Nnamdi Anyaehie, state Chairman of PDP, while welcoming Amako and his supporters back to the party, said the returnees were on sabbatical leave to the PDP.
